Feeling a little gloomy with all of this Winter business going on. 

So I'm starting a Bahamas inspired series to brighten and lighten the day. Bring on Summer xx     

Rustic #1

 

I have a terrible habit of going too far when finishing an artwork. Forever trying to perfect and improve on what to me, seem like unfinished elements.
I will admit that there will be some roses added (purely for balance) but this is pretty much it.

This is a new adventure of textures and shadow.

I am slowly creating a series of these guys and hopefully by the end they will all marry beautifully with one another.

I should confess, yes I am lazy and I promise to post more...more of a self affirmation than anything because I don't know how many of you are out there:)

Native American headress was traditionally worn as a symbol of great spiritual and magical significance.  Earned through achievements of bravery, the headress is a beautiful and intricate symbol of  power.   

Perhaps the reason I was so drawn to this image, the look on her face tells me she is also aware of the importance of her accessory...

Be still...

Like a painting by the masters, this photograph for me captured a certain stillness.
